Fall is a great season for a family reunion, especially a camping-themed reunion. This season allows you to avoid the unbearable heat of the summer, but not freeze in the winter. Your family can get together for a camping trip and enjoy the cool weather, a friendly campfire and beautiful fall foliage. Parks often have picnic tables and outdoor grills available making it easy to enjoy family meals outdoors.
Planning the reunion at a park with a campsite will make it easier and allow you to experience the wilderness. You can find fall themed invitations and decorations. Each family can also bring firewood, so that there will be plenty to keep the fire going. Campfires create a relaxing atmosphere and allow groups to roast hot dogs and make smores. CAmping is a great bonding experience for any family.

With technology where it’s at today, it’s as easy as the click of a mouse to find information on just about anyone, including old classmates and family members. Social networks like Facebook and Myspace make it possible to know almost anything and everything about people you no longer see. One reporter investigates the effect social networks have on reunions at his own high school reunion. Dave Emke wonders if facebook makes the class reunion obsolete. Why bother going to the class reunion when you already know everything about your old classmates from Facebook?
He found that the social networks made the reunion even more enjoyable. Their knowledge of each other made conversations a lot smoother. His article does make you wonder if reunions really are neccessary. Will it make people more likely to not attend a reunion? Social networks seem to make it unneceesary to even talk to people anymore. You look at a person’s profile and learn all about their life without ever speaking to them. Technology is so progressive and helped in many ways, but is it going to make the old traditions, like reunions, fade away? I hope not.
